1. Choose the right RIVAT size
The practice of French boxing requires fitted shoes that provide precise touch and good control of movements. Our models are designed to fit the shape of the foot, thus providing a close fit to the foot for optimal precision.
General recommendations:
-
For UPPERCUT , BOOM , TOP / TOP LIGHT , F1 , and FLAG models:
We recommend choosing one size larger than your usual size in city shoes.
-
For the SWING model:
This model requires choosing two sizes above your usual size in city shoes, due to its specific design.
Important note: All our models are mounted on the same lasts, which means that as soon as you have identified your ideal size at RIVAT, it will be suitable for our entire range.
(Exceptions: ROOKIE , COLT , FULLBOXE , CROSS , SWING )
2. Measuring your foot: Accurate method
To get the best fit, it is crucial to measure your feet correctly. Follow these simple steps:
-
Preparation :
- Place a blank sheet of paper against a wall on a flat surface.
- Make sure you have a pencil and ruler handy.
- For more precision, get help from another person.
-
Measure :
- Step 1: Place your bare foot on the sheet, with the heel firmly against the wall.
- Step 2: Draw a line where your big toe (or longest toe) ends.
-
Step 3: Measure the distance between the edge of the sheet (heel side) and the line you drew.
-
Reference to the size chart:
- Compare the measured length with our size correspondence table to identify the RIVAT size that suits you.

3. Optimal fit: Lacing techniques
Once the correct size is chosen, proper lacing is essential for maximum comfort and performance. At RIVAT, we offer different lacing techniques depending on your specific needs.
- Standard Lacing: Provides uniform foot support and fits most users.
- Cross Lacing: Ideal for wide feet, this lacing provides extra space while maintaining a good fit.
- Side lacing: Specially designed to improve the fit around the ankle, providing increased stability and better control of movements. This unique lacing technique optimizes security during fast movements.

4. Fitting tips for different foot shapes
Every foot is unique, and different foot shapes require specific adjustments to ensure optimal comfort. Here are some tips:
- Flat feet: Choose insoles with arch support. It is also possible to add an orthotic insole for increased comfort.
- High arch feet: Opt for looser lacing across the top of the foot to avoid excessive compression.
- Wide Feet: Cross-lacing or going a half size up may provide better comfort without sacrificing stability.
5. Home Trial: Check the Fit
When you receive your RIVAT shoes, we encourage you to try them on at home to ensure they fit properly:
- Walk and test the movements: Wear your shoes on different surfaces and perform boxing movements to check that they do not slip and support your feet well.
- Final Adjustments: If the shoe is a little tight, wear it with thick socks for a few hours to break in the material.
Note: Make sure your toes are not too compressed and that your heel stays in place without slipping.
6. Returns and exchanges policy
Despite all our recommendations, it may happen that the size you have chosen is not perfect. At RIVAT, we offer a simple and flexible returns and exchanges policy. You can return or exchange your shoes within 14 days of receipt. We will be happy to help you find the ideal size.
